Lot Description
A Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Kingwood Marble-Top Cabinet by Befort Jeune (Mathieu Befort, 1813-1880)
Circa 1865

Height 42 3/4 x width 44 1/2 x depth 15 1/2 inches.

Condition Report
Overall in fair condition. One of the back legs presently detached, with evidence of old glue reside to it. The legs generally unstable and require significant care when moving. The veneer with scattered instances of lifting, loss and areas and of replacement and repair throughout. The left door is currently out of its hinge, partially detached but able to be secured back in place. Small instance of oxidation in crevice of bronze mount, the bottom-most nail of the mount between the doors missing, slightly lifted. Light surface scratches to the marble top, with repair through the center.
