Madame Grès Haute Couture Dress, 1970-80s

In the 1930s, Madame Grès (1903-93) became known for her exquisitely draped, bias-skimming gowns. The successful label adapted, over decades, to changing styles and eventually producing modern cuts for women in the 1970s and 80s. This simple day dress features refined cuts and quiet elegance in ultimate simplicity. 

Haute Couture red jersey knit midi dress with crew neckline, center front ruffle detail with attached neck tie, raglan long sleeves, gathered front waist band, and center back zipper closure.

Condition Report
Condition:

The overall condition is good. There are small holes in both of the underarm seams and a dark spot on the front left side, 14.5" above the hem. On the interior, the front left side of the satin lining on the waist band has a few undone stitches and as well as minor spots on the back panels, about 11" from the hem.
