Two Designer Items: One Norma Kamali Jacket, 1978, One Claude Montana Ensemble, 1990s

This lot includes one jacket and one ensemble.

Norma Kamali (b. 1945) is an American fashion designer from the Upper East Side of New York. She earned a degree in fashion illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology and rose to fame with the creation of her On My Own label, which gained popularity at the New York nightclub Studio 54. 

THE FIRST
Dated to 1978, this is an early jacket from the On My Own label created by Norma Kamali in 1976. A jacket of the same design is held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Collection, acc. 2003.79.7.

THE FIRST
The overall condition is good with no visible issues. The elastic at the button holes is slightly stretched, very faint pin hole on the top tier. 

THE SECOND
The overall condition is very good with only a faint white mark on the front right side of the chest and the skirt has very minor fraying along the hem.
