Lot Description
Emanuel Ungaro Haute Couture Dress From Ebony Fashion Fair, 1988

This dress was purchased by Eunice Walker Johnson of Johnson Publishing Company and worn in the Ebony Fashion Fair. 

Dress of purple and black iridescent silk taffeta, pink silk taffeta, pink satin, and pink lace. The dress is cut with a scoop neckline trimmed with an oversized and flounced pink taffeta and lace collar, full leg-o-mutton sleeves with a flounced cuff of pink satin and lace, a draped bodice and hips, and a very full flared skirt made of flounces of purple and pink taffeta and lace.  The bodice of the dress is boned, the entire dress is lined, and the dress closes down the center back with a zipper.

Condition Report
Condition: 

The overall condition is fair with many popped and loose stitches throughout the garment: the top pink satin flounce is detaching from the neckline in a few areas from weight, there are several popped stitches throughout the draped bodice, the pink taffeta drape piece in the large skirt flounce is un-tacked in several areas, and the large pink lace flounce at the skirt hem is un-tacked from the satin in multiple areas. There are several areas with dark spots; the lace on the neckline has a dark spot primarily on the front right side, both sleeve flounces have dark spots and overall discoloration due to wear, dark spots are noticeable on the right front lace of skirt flounce along with overall discoloration due to heavy wear. The attached silk flower pin is crushed. There are some holes in the pink lace at the center back hemline. Lace edges throughout are worn, especially at the neckline and skirt flounces.
