Framed: 24 1/4 x 32 1/4 inches.
Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined and on a non-original stretcher; passages of the paint have been pressed due to the lining process; minor distortions to canvas present in all corners; network of craquelures throughout, mostly visible only under strong light; one vertical line of inpainting extending from upper right edge and two vertical lines of inpainting extending from upper left edge, the longest no greater in length than 6 inches; one vertical line of inpainting extending from the lower center edge, no greater in length than 3 inches; two areas of inpainting that exhibit a different luster in raking light in the lower left corner. Under UV light: inpainting in aforementioned areas, as well as spots of additional inpainting by horse's muzzle, in the lower left corner, and in the lower right corner.
