116 Lots, Including Bright Statement Jewelry, to be Presented in Third Annual Palm Beach Jewelry Auction This February

CHICAGO – Hindman’s Palm Beach Jewelry auction will take place on Tuesday, February 9 at 10am ET. The jewelry auction will feature 116 lots with vibrant statement jewelry from renowned designers such as Tony Duquette, Christopher Walling, Nicholas Varney, de Grisogono, Evelyn Clothier, and more. With a range of classic and distinct pieces, the sale is full of brightly hued jewelry for the bold collector. The sale will be the third annual jewelry auction in the firm’s Palm Beach saleroom.

Estimate: $5,000-7,000

Jewelry designed by legendary artist and designer Tony Duquette – known for his interiors, stage settings, costumes, jewelry, and more – will be among the standout pieces offered in the sale. Duquette’s trademark extravagant design style will be on full display, such as a magnificent moonstone and opal pendant/brooch (lot 116; estimate is $5,000-7,000). Another lively piece is a multigem and coral brooch with a blue fluorite at the center surrounded by green citrines (lot 115; estimate is $6,000-$8,000).

A number of pieces by influential jewelry designer Christopher Walling will be offered in the auction, including a cultured biwa pearl, diamond, and sapphire bracelet (lot 96; estimate is $4,000-6,000). Additional pieces by Walling include a bright coral bead necklace and a cultured biwa pearl, blue chalcedony, and diamond brooch (lot 89 and lot 95; estimates are $2,500-3,500 and $1,500-2500 respectively).

The sophisticated yet whimsical designs of Nicholas Varney will also be featured in the sale. One outstanding design in the sale is Varney’s abalone, diamond, colored diamond, and sapphire Bird of Paradise brooch (lot 114; estimate is $6,000-8,000). A multigem ‘brick’ bracelet is another striking piece that consists of three rows of links containing cultured biwa pearls surrounded by round brilliant cut diamonds and colored diamonds with an elongated opal for the clasp (lot 113; estimate is $6,000-8,000).

Other notable pieces in the auction include the cover lot, a pair of Evelyn Clothier cultured baroque pearl and diamond flamingo brooches (lot 99; estimate is $3,000-5,000); a pair of Elizabeth Locke yellow gold, intaglio, and cultured pearl earclips (lot 30; estimate is $2,000-3,000); a de Grisogono brown leather and diamond ‘Allegra’ bracelet (lot 5; estimate is $4,000-6,000); an Angela Pintaldi multistrand emerald bead necklace (lot 70; estimate is $4,000-6,000); and a pair of JAR, white resin arum earclips (lot 25; estimate is $3,000-5,000). The jewelry auction will be held amidst the celebration of Hindman’s 10th anniversary in Palm Beach, which we will continue to commemorate throughout the year. Bidding for the February 9th auction will begin at 10am ET. Bidders will be able to participate via absentee bid, by phone, or live online through the Digital Bid Room.
