Lot Description
Men's Embroidered Green Ribbed Silk Waistcoat, 1830s

Green silk grosgrain with a shawl collar, hip pockets and a center front covered button closure. The fronts are embroidered with silk and metal threads, parchment leaves and cut metal paillettes. The back is made of black silk with two back ties and a glazed cotton lining. Unlabeled.

Condition Report
Condition:
The embroidery is missing a few paillettes and some of the parchment is stained brown from the metal thread embroidery. The silk fabric at the top of the center back is fragile and frayed and one spot at low back, fray/snags on the interior lining above button holes. Interior cream lining has slight yellowing throughout.

The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use.
