Lot Description

Carved Wooden Busk, Early 19th Century

Hand-carved wooden busk with a scene on both sides. One side features features three homes, trees, a lighthouse and three ships. The reverse features stars, a heart and plants. Busks were inserted into the center front of corsets and were often, during the late 18th and early 20th centuries, carved with decorative scenes.
