Lot Description
Christian Dior by Marc Bohan Haute Couture Ensemble, Autumn-Winter 1971
Worn by Dame Olivia de Havilland

Ensemble consists of coat, dress, hat and bag. The main seams of the ensemble are sewn by machine while the inside, finishing stitches are done by hand. The coat and dress are made of the same peach fabric. The coat has wide fold down collar, long sleeves, flared hem and a center front button closure. The dress is similar in cut with a thin, self-fabric belt tied around the back with a center back zip. The brown suede bag has a quilted flat with the word 'Dior' in goldtone and a gold chain strap. The hat is of brown suede with a top-stitched design.

Condition Report
Condition:
The overall structure of the dress is stable and in good condition. The peach color on the dress and coat show signs of wear with overall discoloration. The coat has two moth holes near the center front hem. More obvious patches of soiling are around the front waistline and a few spots near the hem The sheer underlining has worn open around the hips on each side. The hat and bag are in good condition.
