Christian Dior by Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture Ensemble, Spring/Summer 1958
Worn by Dame Olivia de Havilland to the opening of Proud Rebel, May 1958.

This ensemble is from Yves Saint Laurent's first collection for Christian Dior. 

Jacket, bodice and skirt of black and white herringbone fabric. The main seams of the ensemble are sewn by machine while the inside, finishing stitches are done by hand. Jacket has a notched collar with 3/4-length sleeves and a center front three-button closure. The sleeveless bodice has a wide scoop neckline and closes down the center front with five buttons. The flared skirt is high-waisted and is attached to a sleeveless black silk bodice.

Condition Report
Condition:
Overall very good condition. The right underarm lining seam has come loose for 1".  The dress is in very good condition with a small brown spot towards the right hem of the skirt. The black silk blouse attached to the skirt is also in good condition, with some opening of the seam near the base of the zipper.
