Two Geoffrey Beene Silk Dresses, 1963-70s

The first dress features in the illustration by Kip Taylor available in Lot 5. 

The second dress features in a photo by Jack Deutsch on page 81 of the 2005 book 'Beene by Beene'. 

The First (1970s): Long black silk dress printed with yellow hand-painted vertical brushstroke stripes at front and back. Short kimono sleeves.

Condition Report

Condition:
The First: overall condition is very good with light discoloration around neckline and one shoulder hook and eye closure is loose.

The Second: overall condition is very good with a slight snag on the left front near the underarm, a light spot on the center back at waist level, and discoloration on center back neck from internal tag.

The stated overall condition of the lot is based on the assumption that the wear is consistent with age and use.
