[RIVIERE & SON BINDING]. EVELYN, John (1620-1706). The Diary of John Evelyn. London: Bickers and Son, 1879.
4 volumes expanded to 8, 4to. Titles printed in black and red; frontispieces; EXTRA ILLUSTRATED by the addition of numerous plates, many window-mounted. Red morocco gilt, sides with triple gilt filet border surrounding Evelyn armorial supralibros with motto "Durete", smooth spines elaborately gilt-decorated, each with 2 tan morocco lettering-pieces gilt, STAMP-SIGNED BY RIVIERE & SON (rebacked preserving original spines, a few covers detached or detaching, some minor chipping to spine ends).
