Condition Report
Dial and movement signed Leloup a Chartres. The movement winds, runs and strikes when the hands are advanced, but the bell does not strike properly. With pendulum and winding key as well as case key. Segments of the dial with some hairline cracks and wear in the enamel, but no significant damage or overpainting to the enamel. Movement appears to be original to case. Bronze mounts with dull, slightly dirty patina. The pendulum may be a replacement. The case has scattered veneer cracks, minor veneer damages, small chips and discolorations as is typical for age. Newer scratches on the front of the bracket and wider age cracks through the veneer on the bracket. One small section of bronze detached but present. Missing nails to attach the bronze finial to the top of the case; finial is detached. The movement is very loose within the case and falls forward unless held in place or unless the door is closed.
