An Apple Green and Pale Celadon Jadeite Covered Bowl

19TH CENTURY

清十九世紀翡翠雕三羊開泰蓋爐
the sloping walls above a spreading foot, surmounted by a galleried mouth rim, the exterior incised with bamboo between keyfret bands, the rim flanked by two ram's head-form handles, the domed cover incised with lotus scrolls and carved in openwork showing three recumbent rams enclosing a taiji symbol above cloud clusters.

Condition Report

The stone showing natural fissures and inclusions, some with soiling. One larger natural fissure incorporated into the carving circumnavigating the body about 2/3 the way round, showing heavier soiling but stable. Chipping around the interior wall near one fissure, and some minor losses to the exterior of the foot.
