An Imperial Gilt Bronze and Iron Helmet and Partial Set of Armor
QING DYNASTY (1644-1912)
清 御製鐵鎏金龍鳳紋嵌寳頭盔、織金鎖子紋地甲胄及鯊魚皮鞘刀筷一組
the iron helmet cast in a domed shape, and flanked with gilt bronze details, with an attached gold and black silk woven nape and cheek guard with visible rounded rivet heads; the long sleeved tunic with horseshoe cuffs  and shoulder defenses of similar ground, further worked with polychrome dragon roundels, covered with gilt bronze shields beneath chased plates; together with a shagreen utensil kit and belt mounted with gilt bronze 'dragon' details. 
Length of jacket from collar to hem 25 in., 83.5 cm. Shoulder pad 16 in.,

Condition Report
In generally stable condition, with expected loss and wear associated with age. The overall structural integrity of each component in good condition. The textile of the jacket, helmet collar, and shoulder pads with some losses to edging, loose threads, and tears along stress seams, particularly at the cuff. Soiling and tearing to the lining. Gilt components with some tarnish, and minor bumps. The tails of confronting dragons at the helmet crown with repairs. The dagger set apparently missing one tool.
