Lot Description
A Pair of Empire Gilt and Patinated Bronze and Marble Three-Light Figural Candelabra
Circa 1800
Height 25 3/4 inches.
Property from a Robert Metzger-designed interior, Maryland
Condition Report
One candelabra with one fairly loose candle cup; instance of breakage to the stem above one of the hanging grape bunches. The other candelabra with a fairly loose standard on the draped maiden's proper-right side. The candle cups and the bodies in general with candle wax residue. Surface wear in the form of light nicks, scratches and instances of oxidation, largely to the gilt bronze segments. Gilt bronze mounts to both marble plinths slightly loose. Patinated bronze figure slightly loose from plinth.
