Two Cotton Day/Home Dresses, 1890s 

This lot includes two day/home dresses. 

THE FIRST
Black striped cotton gauze high waisted dress with ruffled yoke, puff capped fitted sleeves, gathered full skirt and front button closures.

THE FIRST
The overall condition is very good with the following:
Soiling/Spots: There are two small white spots on the back under the yoke ruffle. The under arms are lightly soiled in the lining.

THE SECOND
The overall condition is good structurally with the following:
Losses: There are some small holes at the back neckline just under the collar.
Fading/Color Change: There is some overall darkening to the garment due to age.
Soiling/Spots: The dress is moderate-heavily soiled throughout, mostly along the neckline and collar, shoulders, sleeves elbows, various spots throughout the skirt, though to a lesser degree.
Corrosion/Tarnish: The buttons have a coarse white film on them.
