Two Men's Banyan Robes, 1840 & 1870

This lot includes two men's robes. The additional items featured in the images are available in other lots in this auction. 

THE FIRST
Brown paisley printed cotton lined in red paisley printed cotton. Ca.1840.

Condition Report
Condition:

THE FIRST
The overall condition is good with the following:
Structural Issues: There are several areas where the edges of the collar, sleeve hems, and bottom hem are abraded. The front braid loops are stretched.
Split/Separated Seams: The front left pocket flap has some loose stitches on the right end. 
Losses: There are some small holes throughout, along the front opening, right hip, and back hemline are most noticeable.
Fading/Color Change: There is some overall fading along the shoulders, under the arms in the lining, and neckline.
Soiling/Spots: The neckline has some noticeable soiling, mostly along the back.
Repairs/Alterations: The interior of each of the sleeves have  been stabilized due to wear holes through the fabric. the front bottom right button has also been stabilized.
 
THE SECOND
The overall condition is good with the following:
Structural Issues: Undercollar is weak and separating on the back right. The robe has creases along the sleeve hems and bottom hemline. The back right sleeve has a weakening in the fabric near the joining seam.
Split/Separated Seams: There is a split on the left underarm sleeve, 
Losses: The cord belt is missing a tassel on one end.
Fading/Color Change: There is some minor fading along the top of the shoulders near the neckline.
Soiling/Spots: There is some soiling along the inner collar neckline and sleeve hems.
