The inscription on base reads "Herrn Director Paul Thon gewidmet zum 25 jührigen dienst-jubiläum von der bureau-beamten sämmtlicher generalagenturen der victoria zu Berlin. 1876. 1 Juni. 1901"
Paul Thon was the director of the Victoria Insurance in Berlin in the late 19th and early 20th century. This vase was presented to him on his 25th anniversary.

Figure of base of vase with loses to both big toes. The floral elements with flaking and loses to petals throughout, however, there is no concentrated areas of loss to suggest serious damage to work. One applied fruit element detached and lacking from handle. Both underside of vase and base with crossed swords mark and incised 'BC' in porcelain. Additional images available upon request.
