Lot Description

Two Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Baluster Jars

19TH CENTURY

清晚期青花纏枝花卉紋將軍罐一對
each having a globular body rising to rounded shoulders supporting a straight neck, decorated with a dense network of stylized sprays issuing from flower heads, the underside bearing a six-character Chenghua mark within a double ring in underglaze blue, all surmounted by carved hardwood covers, and further raised above conforming stands.

Height of jar 14 in., 35.5 cm.

Condition Report

Each in overall good stable condition, with some pitting to the glaze. The first example with several small stable firing cracks to the foot. Examination under UV light shows no signs of restoration. Stands and covers in good condition with shelfwear and surface scratches.
