8vo. Original publisher's orange-red buckram, spine gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut (slight fading to spine, a touch of wear to corners); publisher's yellow cloth slipcase (some minor soiling).
FIRST EDITION, LIMITED ISSUE, number 22 of 425 copies SIGNED BY JOYCE in green ink. "In his earlier books Joyce forced modern literature to accept new styles, new subject matter, new kinds of plot and characterization.
