4 variations in 4 volumes, various 4to, 8vo, and 12mo sizes. Each volume contains a different version of this Polynesian folktale, each with a different designer: Robert Tauber, Richard Brunell, Ruth Leonard, and Rod Johnson; and each with a different illustrator: Margret Prentice, Sidney Chafetz, David Macaulay, and Eric May. Each of the 4 volumes is hand-bound in original cloth or paper boards or wrappers; the 4 volumes nesting in to original flax, abaca and Coir-covered folding case, the upper cover inset with a coconut shell.  

LIMITED EDITION, number 38 of 70 copies, EACH VOLUME SIGNED BY THE PRINTER AND ILLUSTRATOR, the first volume SIGNED BY JOHNSON.
