A Louis XV Style Parquetry Poudreuse

19th Century

Height 29 x width 28 x depth 16 inches.

Condition Report

Normal surface wear for age; highly polished patina, possibly not original varnish. Leather top seems original. The opening mechanism works with some difficulty; it needs light repair because of a detached peg and small section of veneer (see photo). The top panels very, very slightly warped. Small section of the bead-molded edge loose. Glass inkwell missing from inside.
