An Egyptian Wood Mummy Mask
Third Intermediate Period, 21st-22nd Dynasty, Circa 1070-712 B.C.
Height 4 3/4 x width 5 inches.
Property from the Collection of John A. Snyder, Evanston, Illinois
Provenance:
Acquired by Carl A. Bross, Detroit, Michigan, prior to 1969 (with Kelekian inventory number and written statement from brother-in-law); thence by family descent to the present owner.
Condition Report
Intact as preserved. Restoration to the left side. Vertical cracks along the mouth, nose, and forehead, with some insignificant wood loss at the seams. Minor filling at the crown of the forehead. Traces of paint around both eyes and eyebrows. Fine, stable and attractive condition overall.
