In fair condition overall. The portrait glass detached from the lid and resting in place. The portrait with a vertical crack down the center and appears to be faded slightly. The side surface of the lid with a cracked appearance and darker in color than the other surfaces suggested it has possibly been re-varnished for stability. Instances of loss to the gilt around the framing mounts. Along the bottom edge, there is a section where the gilt metal framing is missing and has been retouched with gilt in its place, the surrounding frame slightly raised from the edge. The underside of the lid lined with tortoiseshell which is warped. See attached images for further reference to condition; additional images available upon request.
