An Egyptian Bronze Ptah

Late Period, Circa 664-343 B.C.

Condition Report

Intact as preserved. Inspected under UV light, 10x loupe, and acetone tested; nothing was revealed and no obvious restorations. Some surface wear, pitting, and abrasions throughout, as is typical with age. Cuprite inclusions, most evident on the upper back near the shoulders. Single tang at the back of the bronze; some oxidization at the base or possible early bronze disease. The bronze is fitted to a modern marble base, not permanently affixed; museum putty/wax present to secure in base. Height with stand 9 inches (23 cm).
