Lot Description
A Blue and White Porcelain Silver Mounted Baluster Jar
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
明 青花麒麟紋罐
of baluster form, the globular body worked with molded handles to the shoulder. Painted with a central band of large headed bands between friezes of lappets and lotus scrolls, mounted in incised silver, including rings added to the handles, and converted into a lamp.
Height of porcelain 10 3/4 in., 27.4 cm.
Condition Report
The jar's mouth and neck have been cut and grinned. The body has long hairlines and possibly a restoration.
