Lot Description

A French Provincial Carved Walnut Marble-Top Center Table

18th Century

Height 37 x width 80 x depth 38 inches.

Condition Report

In overall fine and stable condition. Retaining a fairly even patina and refinished surface throughout. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Few small losses to the carved feet. Traces of old worm visible. There are old patches at the leg joints that suggest some sort of strengthening of the joint. The marble top appears fine with few areas of wear consistent with use. The marble top showing few frets along the lower edge. Please note that the additional images of the marble top show several darker areas, these are due to shadows cast on the marble, not because of any discoloration to the surface. The marble shows age but is probably not original. The table is sturdy and could withstand the weight of some objects and occasional bumping.
