A Pair of Famille Verte Porcelain Baluster Jars
KANGXI PERIOD (1654-1722)
清康熙 五彩開光花蝶紋將軍罐一對
each having broad barrellike shoulders beneath a straight neck, the bodies narrowing at a low waist before a slightly spreading foot. Each reserved against a ground of puffy trifoliate clouds interspersed with radiant flowerheads with two primary rectangular panels alternating between fruit-form reserves painted with flowering branches, birds, and butterflies, all surmounted by hardwood covered reticulated with ruyi-outline.

Height of each 16 1/2 in., 42 cm.
Condition Report
Each in overall good condition with minor rubbing of glaze. One jar has a very minor chip to the mouth rim, one has a small chip along the foot.
