CDV seated portrait of CSN Commander John Newland Maffitt. New York: C.D. Fredericks & Co., n.d. [ca 1863]. (Spotting to image and mount, wear to edges and corners). Revenue stamp affixed to verso along with penciled identification and obscured studio imprint. -- CDV engraving of the CSS Alabama. New York: E. & H.T. Anthony, [ca 1863-1865]. (Wear to edges and corners of mount). Copyrighted and captioned on mount "290 or The Alabama / Taken from the deck of the Ariel." Verso with Anthony's imprint. -- CDV vignetted bust engraving of Capt. Raphael Semmes. N.p.: n.p., n.d. (Spotting to image and mount, wear and discoloration to mount). -- 3 1/2 x 7 in. stereoview, The Rebel Ram Stonewall. Washington, DC: Bell & Bro., n.d. (Heavy toning, spotting, and wear throughout). Title and photographer's imprint on verso. -- Broadside featuring a "new patriotic and comic song, on the Sinking of the Pirate Alabama..." Philadelphia: J. Magee, 1864. 5 x 8 in. letterpress broadsheet (discoloration to edges, light ink transfer). Red and blue inked title and, flag, and border surround lyrics of the song by Silas S. Steele, Esq. One verse reads, "Famed Captain Semmes was in a plight, / He found there was no chance for flight, / So he must either yield or fight, / With his terrible Alabama!" -- And 13 other items including Harper's Weekly issues, engraved prints, and other ephemera featuring the Alabama and her Captain, Raphael Semmes. 

[With:] A group of 17 "The Grenadines of St. Vincent" postage stamps featuring various ships from around the world.
