Lot notes:
Based on Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein’s 1787-88 painting Goethe in der Römischen Campagna, in the Städelsches Kunstinstitut und Städtische Galerie in Frankfurt Germany, this seminal work by this undeniably Pop Artist, represents Warhol’s first print inspired by a historical work of art. Later, he went on to create prints and paintings based on works by Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Edvard Munch, and others.

Framed: 42 x 42 inches.
Attached to backing board in multiple areas along edges verso; slight scuffing to surface mostly visible in brown areas; otherwise appears to be in good condition with bright, fresh colors.  Please request additional images.
