Condition Report
With key. Overall sturdy, complete condition, apparently without alteration or significant repair. The lock mechanisms have probably been replaced, but are old. The lowest drawer's lock cover is detached but present. The bronze mounts on the feet and sides have a darker, slightly dingy gold patina but could be cleaned and polished brighter by a conservator. The marquetry is well-conserved throughout, with very few areas of lifting brass inlay or lost tortoise shell inlay. Near the proper right front corner there is a small section of brass inlay which is broken off but present. Near the proper left front corner there is a small area of lost tortoise shell which has been filled in with a composite material colored to match. Near the proper left side of the top there is a very, very small section of chipped / lost tortoise inlay which has been sealed but not repaired. There is an area near the proper right front edge of the top where the wood has been chipped and the bronze edge has had a repaired crack, probably a soldered repair.

they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make
