Ninth plate ambrotype of double-armed Ohio volunteer infantryman wearing "OVM" belt plate.
Ninth plate ambrotype housed in full pressed paper case (image shows excellent clarity and detail; case fully separated at hinge). Seated view of unidentified Ohio volunteer in striking pose wearing forage cap and Ohio shell jacket with shoulder tabs. Equipped with infantry belt, cap box, bayonet and scabbard, and OVM belt plate. Armed with musket with cocked hammer, deliberately held up for effect.
