Lot Description

3rd Division, V Corps badge with stenciled regimental number "7."

2 x 2 in. dark blue wool Maltese cross mounted on a white backing (wear to edges and some loss to backing). Stenciled on the badge is a number "7," which measures 1 1/2 in. high in the center. There is evidence that this badge was removed from a hat or uniform. Only two regiments, the 7th Wisconsin Infantry and the 7th Indiana Infantry were ever in the 3rd Division of the V Army Corps.
