Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR - PHOTOGRAPHY]. A quarter plate ambrotype of an unidentified New York militiaman. Ca 1860s.
Quarter plate hand-tinted ambrotype (Some image deterioration around mat opening and solarization throughout.) Housed in a full leatherette case (hinge split with interior repair, scuffs, a few small losses to leather).
A three-quarter-length standing portrait of a New York militiaman wearing a gray shell jacket with black cuff slashes, an obscured rectangular brass militia plate, and an obscured cross belt plate.
