A Sumerian Stone Head
Early Dynastic III, Circa 2550-2250 B.C.
Height 13/32 inches (1 cm).

Condition Report
Intact as preserved with no obvious restorations. Overall smooth surface with even light brown, slightly beige, patina. Minor weathering and chips to neckline, top of proper right side of head, and nose. The middle appears to be drilled either in antiquity to be used as a bead or to accommodate a dowel for a modern metal base; not permanently affixed; Height with stand 1 11/16 inches (4.3 cm).
