[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY] -- [MILITARIA]. Half plate daguerreotype of French infantry officer. Ca 1850s.
Half plate daguerreotype. (Tarnishing to perimeter.) Housed in black and gilt frame with glass (resealed).
A portrait of seated French infantry officer from the Crimean War era. He is seated wearing his long uniform coat with large epaulettes. A sword or edged weapon appears to hang from his belt. His shako rests upon the table bearing a "1" and an unidentified hat badge.
