Sixth plate daguerreotype. (Sharp image with good tonality, tarnishing to perimiter.) Housed in a half pressed paper case with floral motif (lid detached, residue, scuffing). N.p., ca late 1840s-early 1850s. 

A half-length studio portrait of an American enlisted militiaman wearing a star on either side of the distinctive high cut collar trimmed with three rows of cloth braid. The breast of his fatigue jacket features a slash pocket confirming his status as militia and not regular Army.

A half-length studio portrait of an unknown militia officer wearing a unique triple-breasted coatee carrying a straight-bladed American sword having either a plain urn pommel or eagle head pommel hilt, popular from the 1830s.

Full-length standing portrait of an unknown militia subject and woman. The male subject wears a long coat with braids at collar and cufs with a row of 9 buttons. The female subject wears a chintz fabric dress with white pantaloons visible beneath the hem.
