A Chinese White Jade Parfumier Pendant Necklace
JADE: 19TH CENTURY
清晚期 銀嵌白玉鏤雕鳳穿牡丹紋珮項鏈
the larger pendant composed of two white jade plaques, each reticulated with a feathered phoenix craned towards its tail feathers into an irregular seed-pod form. The two plaques mounted in brass between a lattice network of twisted wires joined by a hinge and a kiss clasp. Strung on a chain or hammered almond-form links with spinach jade beads, and further suspending a pair of white jade 'lotus' pendants on either side of a softly polished white jade teardrop-form example.

Condition Report
The hinge opens and closes smoothly, though the metal with heavy tarnish. Handwritten accession number at interior. Approximate length of chain 10 1/2 in., 26.8 cm.
