Condition Report
In overall fine and stable condition.  Retaining an even, refinished surface to the cases with the pediment and finial showing a darker color. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.  The waist molding on the proper right side is detached, but retained. The drawer pulls and escutcheons are replaced.  The backboards are protruding from the rear of the case with added 1/4 dowels added, this is likely caused by a shrinkage of the side panels of the case.  The bottom block of the proper right quarter-column of the upper case is detached, but retained.  The pediment and finial are replaced, though they show age.  Each foot faces is cracked and reglued (about 2" from the ground), though two are likely old patches. The appear to be original, however, one of the rear feet's quarter rounds shows a different wear pattern suggesting that perhaps all of the feet are married from another chest, though it could just be that the round was replaced.
