A Louis XVI Style Giltwood Seven-Piece Salon Suite

20th Century

comprising a settee, two fauteuils and four side chairs.
Height of settee 44 x width 57 x depth 24 inches.

Condition Report

Height of armchairs 42 x width 28 x depth 23 inches; seat height: 17 inches. Sturdy and usable condition. The settee is missing part of its garland ornamentation from the underside of the seat rail, on the left side. One of the side chairs has some large chips from the underside of its garland ornamentation along its seat rail. That same chair also has one of its legs slightly bent inward, but it can be sat upon. All of the pieces have a somewhat dark, dirty gold patina and scattered chips, scratches and small gilt losses exposing small areas of gesso as is normal. The tapestry upholstery is 20th century and hand-painted, not a woven tapestry.
