Lot Description
A Japanese Cloisonné-Enamel and Partial Plique-à-Jour Square Bowl
ANDO JUBEI (1876-1953), MEIJI PERIOD
of rounded square form having tapered walls, with an upper plique-à-jour rim depicting multicolor chrysanthemums, enclosed by
two brown enameled borders imitating bamboo atop an enameled metal body, the interior centered with a single crab, stamped jujin, 純銀 on the silver rim and signed with the silver wire seal of Ando Jubei on the underside.

Condition Report
The overall structural integrity intact and free of dents, though bruised with related fissuring and enamel loss to one side, largely confined within one section of the upper 'bamboo' border, smaller stable fissures in the flanking bamboo sections. The interior lightly soiled, and having some scattered surface scratches commensurate with regular use to the underside.
