Condition Report
In overall fine condition.  Retains an even, refinished patina throughout. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.  The rush seat is likely an early replacement.  There is an old reglued crack on the proper right stile at the junction with the rear seat rail up to the junction with the horizontal stretcher beneath the splat.  The chair wobbles slightly from front to back, likely due to shrinkage in the mortis and tenon joint of the side seat rails into the stiles. Visual evidence that the crest rail was previously cracked and reglued, though all parts appear to be original. The decorative seat rails are attached using modern hardware, though they do show age, they may be early replacements. While it creaks, it does support the weight of a 200lb person.

The physical condition of lots in our auctions can vary due to age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and restoration/repair. All lots are sold "AS IS," in the condition they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make no representation or warranty and assume no liability of any kind as to a lot's condition.
