Hidatsa Doll, with Beaded and Quilled Dress
fourth quarter 19th century

thread-sewn cloth body and hide head; and beaded facial features; the hide dress, with fringed edges, features a quilled yoke accented with beaded lanes in colors of white, greasy yellow and translucent red; further embellished with a necklace resembling a peace medal, and a wood and glass mirror board
