Lot Description
Cheyenne Beaded Hide Dress, with Brewer Made Doll
fourth quarter 19th century AND late 20th century
dress is thread and sinew-sewn with beaded yoke and remnants of red pigment
height 13 inches
In 1976 I found this nice old dress in an antique shop, but it came without a body. The problem was solved a few years later when Bill and Cathy Brewer, the great restoration experts, made a doll for me....So that no one in the future would think she is as old as the dress, I wrote the Brewers' names on the back of her right leg.
