Kiowa Beaded Hide Moccasins
late 19th century

thread and sinew-sewn with remnants of hide fringe dusters; the vamps decorated with gourd stitched beaded lanes housing a central line of red pigment and further accentuated by hide fringe lining the outer edge; the cuffs and tongue are coated with green pigment, the cuffs with a matching gourd stitched edge and the tongues with a beaded medallion

Condition Report
Hide has some dry areas near soles, othwerside soft and supple; fringe on the dusters is a little dry but fringe on vamps are soft;  light scattered bead loss
