8vo. Original black cloth; unrestored unclipped dust jacket (small loss to head of spine panel affecting title, some other rubbing or minor creasing).

FIRST AMERICAN EDITION of Traven's best-known work, which was the basis for a film adaptation by director John Huston starring Humphrey Bogart in 1948. B. Traven's identity and the details of his life remain subject for debate.
