Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Sixth plate tintype of a double-armed federal infantryman.
Sixth plate tintype portrait of a standing soldier. (Darkening and some spotting to image, with halo effect around subject, no mat present; unsealed.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case (fully separated at spine, surface wear throughout). The young male subject stands resolute, wearing a bowie knife in his belt and holding his bayonetted rifle at his side. His buttons, belt plate, and the tip of his knife scabbard are highlighted gold. His pants are hand colored light blue.
