A Pair of Louis XVI Painted Bergères 
By Jean-Baptiste Claude Sené (French, 1748-1803), Circa 1780
each stamped SENÉ to the underside of the front seat rail.
Height 37 x width 26 1/4 x depth 21 1/2 inches.

Condition Report
Overall fine and stable condition. The upholstery is in good condition with few minor areas of discoloration and no tears throughout. Retaining an earlier paint treatment, although likely not original. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with use. Areas of rubbing to painted surface along carved decoration. Few age cracks throughout.
