Lot Description
A Japanese Cloisonné Vase
MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912)
of square section rising from a tapered foot to high shoulders beneath a short neck and everted mouth rim. Worked with gold and silver wires of varying gauge to pick out a continuous scene of birds in flight and roosting in blossoming branches between bands of lappet spears.
Height 7 1/4 in., 18.4 cm.

Condition Report
Overall good condition with light dust to the exterior. Surface scratches to the base, and shoulders, and body, alongside small circular patch of loss to the reverse. Ground color is more vivid blue in person.
